this是一本老牌教材，内容选择都比较经典，不过有些文章也很老。我是英语专业的，大学的时候挺第二册（就是中级），感觉难易比较适中。我那时是拿着教师用书的，要是实在听不出来的话就对照一下原文。
中级里的短文都是外国的话剧演员录制的，但也都是很口语化，语速很快的了。高级的难度肯定会更高一些，有些科普的文章。
