因此，我们选择推荐人，也要找那种有一定信誉的。中国学生的周围，活跃着这么两类人，一类是“牛人”，比如某某大学校长，某某中科院院士，他们因地位高而突显信誉。在中国，这些人本和学生没有什么学术关系，但学生通过种种关系找到这种人推荐还是有的。另一类人，是学生的老师，他们教授学生课程，指导学生实验，我们称之为“熟悉学生的人”，可是这些教授通常知名度很有限，没有什么国际影响力。向左走，还是向右走?我们的意见是尽量找“熟悉你的牛人”，当两者只能选其一的时候，就选熟悉你的人。千万别为了选个所谓牛人，而找一个不熟悉你的推荐人。信任是建立在熟悉的基础上的。
在国外，推荐信很多是老师亲笔完成，而且要求学生Waive the right to access the recommendation (放弃看到推荐信的权利)。也有一部分教授，因为向其索取推荐信的学生很多，那么教授就让学生先写成推荐信的初稿，然后教授进行修改并最终定稿。而在中国，学生写完推荐信后找老师签字是一种普遍的做法。老师很少有时间帮助学生写作，更何况英语写作对于很多老师来说也绝对是一种挑战。
要由事例佐证评语
