生平介绍：约翰·特拉沃尔塔(John Travolta)，1954年2月18日出生于美国新泽西州。父亲在恩格尔伍德开有一家轮胎修理商店，母亲把他送进纽约的一所戏剧学校，他在那里学习发音、表演和舞蹈，有时还参加当地剧团的一些演出。特拉沃尔塔决心把发音、表演和舞蹈三项技能融合起来，力争成为一名歌舞喜剧演员。16岁那年，特拉沃尔塔第一次正式登上舞台，参加了音乐喜剧《小鸟再见》(Bye Bye Birdie)的演出。此后，他经常参加一些喜剧和电视商业剧的演出。

《魔鬼雨》是在新墨西哥州完成拍摄的。拍完影片那天，特拉沃尔塔从新墨西哥返回好莱坞，还没来得及洗去一身的沙尘，便被通知参加美国广播公司计划出品的一个系列幽默剧的试镜。后来，他如愿以偿得到了《欢迎归来，科特》(Welcome Back, Kotter)中的Vinnie Barbarino这一角色，由此成为名闻全美的明星。1977年和1978年，特拉沃尔塔的事业达到了巅峰，他所主演的影片《周末狂热》(Saturday Night Fever)和《火爆浪子》迅速席卷全球，掀起一场世界范围的迪斯科舞热。1978年，特拉沃尔塔获得奥斯卡奖最佳男演员提名，并被卡特总统邀至白宫共进午餐。
