英語形容詞分類蘇章海
形容詞是英語詞彙中較大的開放性詞類。掌握其分類，對提高學習興趣，正確地
駕馭語言具有重要意義。
Ⅰ就其詞形結構而言，形容詞可分為單字形容詞和復合形容詞。單字形容詞有
不帶詞綴的如big，
small，
good，
hard，有帶前綴或後綴的如：
dislogal,impossible,unkind;beautiful,voiceless,bloody;unthinkab
le,monolingual等。復合形容詞的構成是多種多樣的，如：
形容詞＋形容詞：bitter－sweet，deaf－mute;
形容詞／副詞＋ing分詞：good－looking，easy－going;

Ⅱ就其句法功能而言，形容詞可分為中心形容詞(Central
Adjective)和外
圍形容詞(Peripheral

Ⅲ就其詞彙意義而言，形容詞可分為靜態形容詞(Stative

Adj.,如witty，patient，generous等)兩者有以下區別意義：
1動態形容詞可與系動詞be的進行體搭配作補語，而靜態形容詞不可。如可以

2動態形容詞可用於以動詞be開首的祈使句，而靜態形容詞不可。如可以說，
