1．Nerd 和Jock

4． yuppie（雅皮士）, dink（丁克），thinker（新客族）和sandwich generation

5．Couch potato ,Mouse potato和Mall rat .

6． Backseat driver, Wheeler-dealer, Free-wheeler, Fifth wheel
「backseat driver」 坐在汽車後排，卻不停地對前面開車的人指手畫腳，因此是指那些自己不在崗位上，但是卻喜歡給在位的人提供人家不需要的意見的人。「wheeler- dealer」 精明能幹，是那種善於運用權利和財勢在政治或商業活動中為所欲為，獨斷獨行的人。「free-wheeler」 喜歡自由，不受約束，是指那些不願意遵守自己工作單位的規章制度，想怎麼做就怎麼做的人。而"fifth wheel "自然是指多餘的、不受歡迎的人了

7．Green thumb 和All thumbs
「green thumb」 指善於養花種草的人， 而「all thumbs」則是形容一個人笨手笨腳。但是現在它的意思恐怕要改變了，沒看見那些善於發短消息的拇指一族嗎？

8．Penny-pincher 和Cheapskate
都是指花錢很小心、吝嗇的人。penny 是一美分，pinch 意為「捏」，顧名思義，「penny-pincher」 就是那些連一分錢都要在手裡捏得緊緊的、捨不得花出去的人。「cheapskate」則是萬事以省錢為本，越省越好的小氣鬼。

9．Spring chicken和Lame ck
