我現在在美國留學，語言大致沒有問題了。其實我也用過中英互譯的教材。
步驟很簡單，先讀英文不要總去看中文翻譯。不懂的單詞查字典並用手抄寫下來一來是增加詞彙量二來是鍛煉英文句子的總體理解能力。我剛學英文時詞彙量不少但是總有困難理解一大段一大段的句子，這個方法幫助很大。 不要因為看不懂泄氣，用聲音把英文讀出來，不懂的單詞查，然後繼續。最好不要依賴中文的譯文。
以上是我個人的經驗，有疑惑的地方再追問我：）

讀英文原著很花時間。
所以有個退一步的方法，就是讀一些老外編寫的原著縮寫版。
比如書蟲系列的改寫版，內容很有趣，語法精確【因為是老外自己寫的，絕對不會出現中式英語】，而且單詞量也比較匹配學生的水平。
如果水平夠，也可以買一套《美國語文》。那套書有難度，但是都是經典中的經典，對於提高英語水平絕對幫助很大！值得反復閱讀！
