1. 英語中的etc（等等）如果在句中應該怎麼用

"etc"表示「等等」的意思，後面是有一個句點，如果在"etc."後面，還要接內容，可以在後面直接添加逗號。例：

They ate cookies, cakes, peanuts, etc., and it's little wonder they ended up with stomach aches.

他們吃餅干、蛋糕、花生，等等，難怪最後肚子疼。

其它標點也可以在"etc."後面，比如：分號、問號、驚嘆號等。以下是相應的規則：

在"etc."後面直接加問號；在"etc."後面位元組直接加感嘆號；在"etc."後面位元組直接加分號，並在用空格隔開下一個句子；在用作插入語時，使用括弧。例：

Students should not pack liquids in their carry-on bags(water, shampoo, makeup remover, etc.)

學生不應在隨身行李中攜帶液體(水、洗發水、卸妝液等)。

"et cetera"，意為「等等」，一般簡寫為「etc. 」可以表示未列全的一類事物。 "et cetera"表示的是同類事物。例如：

We could use cupcakes, cookies,etc.

我們可以使用蛋糕、餅乾等任何甜點。

不要將「etc」用於"such as" 或 "for example" 引導的介紹性短語中。

Bring items such as cake, chocolates, ice cream, etc. to the party. 這樣的表達是不對的。因為"such as"本身就意味著講話者沒有列舉全。

可表達成：

"Bring items such as cake, chocolates, and ice cream to the party."

"Bring cake, chocolates, ice cream, etc. to the party."

可以帶蛋糕、巧克力、冰激凌等等到晚會上.
