for example，such as和like都可用來舉例，但用法有所不同。
for example作「例如」講時，一般只以同類事物或人中的「一個」為例，作插入語，用逗號隔開，可置於句首、句中或句末。
For example，air is invisible. 例如，空氣是看不見的。
He，for example，is a good student. 例如，他就是個好學生。
such as也作為「例如」講，用來列舉同類人或事物中的幾個例子。
Some of the European languages come from Latin，such as French，Italian and Spanish.

such as、for example和like的區別
1)for example和such as都可當作「例如」解。但such as用來列舉事物，插在被列舉事物與前面的名詞之間。例如：
①The farm grows various kinds of crops, such as wheat, corn, cotton and rice.
這個農場種植各種各樣的莊稼，例如麥子，玉米，棉花和稻米。
Some of the European languages come from Latin，such as French，Italian and Spanish.
有些歐洲語言來源於拉丁語，例如，法語、義大利語和西班牙語。
Boys such as John and James are very friendly.
像約翰和詹姆斯這樣的男孩都很友好。
【注意】
(1)such as一般不宜與and so on連用。
(2)對前面的復數名詞部分起列舉作用，一般不全部列出。故不可以說：
He knows four languages, such as Chinese, English, French and German. 應將such as改成namely, 後面加逗號。即：He knows four languages, namely, Chinese, English, French and German.
2)for example意為用來舉例說明，有時可作為獨立語，插在句中，不影響句子其他部分的語法關系。例如：
①A lot of people here, for example, Mr John, would rather have coffee.
這兒的許多人，例如約翰先生，寧願喝咖啡。

⑶ 高考英語單選

1.the的一個用法是表特指。加上the，特指那人在趕去開會的路上的traffic和rain

2.不行。因為by sea是固定搭配，乘船、走海路之意。如：
May I ask if you are fond of traveling by sea?
我可以問一下你是否喜歡海上旅行？

3.加上the，表示特指我沒有和鄰居一起去散步的精力，比如吃飯的精力他可能還是有的。相當於就是I don't have the energy to go for a walk with you. 省略了energy後面的東西。

4.注意時態是過去時，所以那人認為那個party辦得很成功。success是個名詞，而且是泛指，要具體指出那次party是一個成功的party，當然要加a.如果不加，success只能是一個泛指的「成功」。比如：
Success and wealth transformed his character.
成功和財富改變了他的性格。（具體哪方面的成功不清楚）
Success lies not so much as in luck as in hard work.
與其說成功在於運氣不如說是辛勤努力。（具體哪方面的成功不清楚）
Make people happy, and your procts will be a success.
只要用戶滿意，產品就會成功。（我們知道是產品方面的成功）

5.make room for是固定搭配，意為：「給……騰出地方，騰出空間」
